Feehan Announces Candidacy for 120th State House Seat
Updated: Feb 4, 2020

Stratford – Former Town Council Chairman Jim Feehan announced today that
he is running for 120 th District State Representative in this year’s election setting
up what promises to be a spirited race with differing views of the future direction
of our State.
Feehan elaborated, “The current Democratic majority possesses an
unquenchable thirst for new taxes and tolls. Our families and businesses are
being torn apart with hostile regulations and higher taxes. There is a better way!
We need common sense in Hartford. The current occupant of the 120th House
seat has failed to meet that need and is invisible in the face of these challenges,
making the need for someone to step up critical to our future.”
“Jobs continue to leave Connecticut and we are falling behind neighboring states
that are benefiting from an improved national economy. Trust in our government
continues to erode when tough decisions are not made, and housing values
continue to decline. In short, this election is about the future of our families, and
most importantly our children. Without a promise of prosperity, our children will
continue to look elsewhere for a better standard of living and leave Connecticut
behind”, Feehan continued.
Feehan concluded, “After consulting with my family, friends, town leaders, and
citizens, it is clear that the issues concerning voters across our district are not
being addressed by the current occupant of the seat and his political allies.
Recent election victories prove that people are waking up across Connecticut. I
am therefore seeking the support of voters across our district to make restoring
Connecticut a reality.”
Mayor Laura Hoydick, a former 120 th District State Representative, immediately
confirmed her support. “Jim Feehan understands Stratford and every day proves
that he would be a tireless advocate for Stratford in the House. As a husband,
father, veteran, small businessman, and community leader, he understands the
challenges we face and will be ready to go on day one with solutions that will
benefit our Town."
Jim Feehan was the Republican and Independent Party nominee for the 120 th
District House seat in 2018. That race was the subject of controversy when a
significant number of voters received incorrect ballots casting the result in doubt.
House Democrats blocked multiple efforts to schedule a special election.
Feehan concluded, “I truly view public office as a way of serving the people of
our great town and state. It’s about love of country and love of community. I am
looking forward to meeting with the voters throughout Stratford again in the
coming months.”
