Waterbury – Jim Feehan, Republican candidate for Stratford’s 120th District State Representative was endorsed by Independent Party of Connecticut, the state’s third largest party.
This is the first endorsement the party has given since it became the Connecticut affiliate of a national movement whose stated goal is to “elect public servants who will end corruption, stagnation, and partisan politics.” They further aim to “emphasize the importance of integrity and honor while moving the nation forward rather than left or right.”
“I want to thank the Independent Party for this endorsement at this momentous time for them. While the country is in the grip of hyper partisanship, I believe this endorsement is a clear signal to independent and unaffiliated voters. Our state is facing unparalleled challenges with mounting debt, high taxes, and the loss of thousands of jobs all while we are trying to fight a global pandemic. Voters are looking for strong, independent leadership and I believe the Independent Party recognized that in making this endorsement,” said Feehan.
“As a former Board of Education Chairman, I was charged with leading a team of 1,100 employees and caring for 8,000 students. That experience, together with being a father, small business owner, United States Marine, retired Fire Lieutenant, and former Town Council Chairman uniquely prepared me to be a leader in the uncertain times Stratford and Connecticut are facing. As your State Representative, my mission is to keep our schools and neighborhoods safe and revitalize our economy”, Feehan continued.
Feehan is a long time resident of Stratford. He is happily married to Karen and has three children Brianna, AJ and Abby.
